Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

This policy explains what Typoclysm (operated by Perseus Solutions, the "controller") collects, why, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect what's needed to run a typing game with accounts, scores and rankings; we don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers.

1. What we collect

Usage analytics. We collect anonymous usage events to understand how Typoclysm is used and to improve it. These events record things like which menus and game modes are opened, when a run starts or finishes, and which store or feature pages are viewed. Each event includes a randomly generated browser identifier stored on your device, a random per-visit identifier, a timestamp, the type of page or mode involved, general device information (screen width, whether touch is available), and the website that referred you, if any. If you are signed in, events are also linked to your account ID. We do not record what you type, your keystrokes, passwords, or the content of your messages in these events, and we do not use them for advertising or sell them.

Support messages you send us.Answering you.

Some of this is public: your display name, level/XP, scores, ratings, rankings, weekly awards and race results can be seen by other players. Don't use a display name that reveals personal information.

2. On your device

We store data in your browser's local storage: your sign-in session, settings, lesson progress and typing statistics, and (briefly) a finished Ranked result that hasn't reached our server yet. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Clearing your browser data removes this local copy; for signed-in accounts the important parts are also stored on our servers.

3. Who processes it

When paid purchases launch, a payment processor will handle your payment details; we will not see or store card numbers, and we'll update this policy first.

4. How long we keep it

We keep account and gameplay data while your account exists. Analytics events are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Guest accounts that are never used may be removed after a period of inactivity. Security and backup logs are kept for a limited time. When you ask us to delete your account we delete or anonymise your data, except where we must keep something for legal reasons or to protect the integrity of the game (for example a match record that also belongs to your opponent).

5. Your choices and rights

You can turn off anonymous usage analytics at any time in Settings → Data → "Share anonymous usage data". You can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing, by emailing info@typoclysm.com from your account email. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California) you have additional legal rights, including the right to complain to your data-protection authority. We don't sell personal information.

6. Children

Typoclysm is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it. [Add a local-law note here if you serve the EU/UK, where the digital age of consent can be up to 16.]

7. Security

Data is sent over HTTPS and protected by database access rules; results are validated on the server. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Changes and contact

We'll post updates here and change the effective date; for material changes we'll also notify you in the Service. Questions: info@typoclysm.com.
